Macbeth Lankester has been appointed to support marketing and communications for Golden Valley, the £1bn development taking shape alongside GCHQ in Cheltenham.

Golden Valley is a nationally significant development at the heart of the UK’s technology innovation ecosystem for national security and defence.

Building on Gloucestershire’s established strengths in cyber security and emerging technologies, it will bring together government, academia and industry to accelerate innovation, strengthen the UK’s security capabilities and create new opportunities for the region.

The project is being delivered by HBD, part of Henry Boot in partnership with Cheltenham Borough Council, working alongside organisations across government, education and industry.

With construction progressing, we’ll be supporting Golden Valley as its first two buildings take shape. These include IDEA, the National Security Innovation Centre, and ROUTER, the new mobility hub, which are due to open in early 2028.

Alex Ellis, Co-founder of Macbeth Lankester, said:

“We’ve been fortunate to work on some fantastic developments across the UK and Europe, but Golden Valley is particularly special for us. To be involved in a project of national significance, right on our doorstep here in Gloucestershire, is something we’re really proud of.

“We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the Golden Valley team and its partners over the past few months, and seeing first-hand the ambition behind the development. We’re looking forward to helping tell the story of what Golden Valley could mean for the county and the wider UK.”
