We were very lucky to be supporting our client international energy company, Uniper, today and witness the safe demolition of the 200m-tall, Kingsnorth Power Station, chimney.
Uniper is a global energy company that generates, trades and markets energy on a large scale. It has over 12,000 employees in more than 40 countries and generates approx. 37 GW of capacity a year. Here in the UK, Macbeth Lankester has been managing the energy giant’s corporate reputation at some of the UK’s largest power station sites. This includes the Kingsnorth Power Station, and the safe demolition of the 200m tall chimney.
The event was attended by local and national media and over 100 previous employees of the power station.
It was interesting to see the various techniques of modern day journalism in action. With live streaming via twitter and Facebook being undertaken amidst live radio transmissions and broadcast presenters undertaking pieces to camera.
