Driving Bio Capital’s renewable energy mission

Some partnerships just make sense.

We’ve been appointed by Bio Capital, the UK’s largest producer of renewable electricity and gas from anaerobic digestion, to help deliver its marketing and communications strategy as the business accelerates its role in the UK’s energy transition.

Bio Capital’s work is genuinely exciting. Every year, they transform more than half a million tonnes of food waste into renewable energy, biofertiliser, and renewable CO₂. That’s enough to power around 100,000 homes and businesses while cutting 345,000 tonnes of CO₂. With new Simpler Recycling legislation on the horizon for the collection of household food waste, the role of businesses like Bio Capital has never been more important; they’re helping make circular economy thinking a reality.

For us, it’s the kind of brief that sits right at the heart of what we do, combining communications strategy, positioning and storytelling to support organisations tackling some of the biggest challenges of our time.

Over the years, we’ve been lucky to work with clients shaping the future of energy, infrastructure and regeneration. From BayWa r.e. on renewable energy campaigns to Harworth Group on transforming the former Ironbridge Power Station. Bio Capital adds another exciting chapter to that story.

As Alex Ellis, our Director, puts it:

“Bio Capital isn’t just another renewables player; they are reshaping how the UK thinks about food waste and sustainability. Our experience across energy, infrastructure and regeneration has shown the impact strong communications can have in driving awareness and influencing change. We’re looking forward to helping Bio Capital amplify their impact.”

Mark Cooper, Head of Communications for Bio Capital, added:

“We’re at a pivotal point for the industry, with growing demand for green energy and sustainable food waste solutions. Partnering with a team that understands both the commercial and environmental context is key for us; Macbeth Lankester’s sector experience and strategic insight make them an ideal partner as we continue to grow our role in the UK’s energy transition.”

We’ll be supporting the team with strategic communications, media engagement and marketing to position Bio Capital as a leader in circular economy solutions and a key partner in delivering the UK’s net zero ambitions.

It’s a partnership we’re genuinely excited about, not just because of what Bio Capital does, but because of what it represents: businesses leading real change, and communications helping that story reach the audiences that matter.
